I have a Craftsman 6.75 Eager-1 gas mower. It starts up, sputters

Customer Question

I have a Craftsman 6.75 Eager-1 gas mower. It starts up, sputters smoke and then immediately quits. I tried 6-8 times, but it keeps quitting on me. Usually it does this the first couple of tries, but then starts fine. It has enough gas and oil looks ok. Can you advise what could be the problem.

Try draining the carburetor bowl. it may have a drain plug, if nt you will have to loosen the bowl bolt and let the fuel drain, it may have water in the bowl , keeping the gas from getting in!
