My Craftsman 7000 Pro Series rider with a hydrostatic transmission

Customer Question

My Craftsman 7000 Pro Series rider with a hydrostatic transmission is having trouble going into reverse. A friend said the linkage needs adjusted. If so, how do I do that?

Looking at the manual and diagrams it doesn't look like there is a adjustable shift rod http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-part/917289080/0247/1509200/p0902002/00003.html

Is it staying in neutral when you put it in reverse.?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes. I push down on the reverse button with my right heel and the mower doesn't move.

I'm trying to find a good diagram of it but it sounds hooked up

Part 22 is the shift rod according to this diagram http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-part/917289080/0247/1509200/p0902002/00003.html If drive is still working I'm wondering if it could be a broken band in the transmission
