Hi my name is ***** ***** welcome to Just Answer. Have you checked the seat safety switch ? Some times the switch isn't making good contact or goes bad so once the brake is depressed it kills the motor because it's a open circuit at the seat .

I did not say depressed I said release the brake
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.
Right , I meant it will run with the brake depressed but when released it dies because it doesn't recognize someone on the seat , sometimes it's just a dirty connection and other times it's the switch itself
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
You did not. Help me any so donot charge me anythlng
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.
This is the first I've heard back from you , did you check the seat switch and connection?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes l checked the switch was good found the interlock switch bad

Ok well I'm glad you got it resolved. . Being that I can't see the equipment in person the seat switch is likely a possibility when the engine will run until the brake is released .
