Customer Question

2004 JD 737. Been to JD shop 5-6 times, no luck. Starts fine, runs about 5 minutes and shuts off like ran out of fuel, have to choke it to get back running. May then run an hour or 2 or 3-4 minutes, shuts off. Usually notice low or little gas in filter but not always the case. Local dealer obviously can't fix it. Has about 1200 hours on motor.

# ***** in the Deere link, is a solenoid that plugs the main jet. If it closes the engine dies. Best test is to remove it and plug the hole. Also the engine has a pulse fule pump, so it can't loose power like an electric fule pump, so if it does loose fuel , there could be debris loose in the fuel tank. but I would check the solenoid first. The fuel filter on the mower will never show to be filled when engine is running.
