Will it roll in free wheel, indicating the brake is not locked?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
How did problem start? While using or after sitting?

Is the fan and pulley n top of the transmission turning when engine is running? With engine OFF, is the belt tight enough that it does not slip on the pulleys?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
fan is turning belt is tight
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
The belt is the upper belt, from engine to the transmission. Likey off a pulley or the tension spring is loose.?? See page 4 in the parts manual link below.

If all is in order, with engine OFF see if the top pulley is actually turning the transmission input shaft, or has it come loose on the shaft.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
belt is not off tension is good

And the bypass rod is not puled? You have moved it in and out and it is in the run position?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
I would check the rear wheels, but with a Cub , not as likely m that wheel as come loose on axle shaft. If either wheel is loose on axle, the transmission loses drive.

I will leave this open and get back to you later

OK< if everything external is good. The only other possibility is something sheared inside the transmission!
