Hello, when was the last time it was running?

Expert:  Vince O. replied 1 year ago.

The gas smell could be from a flooded engine. Remove the plug to see if it is wet. If it is dry off, remove the plastic safety key and pull the rope a few times to see if it blows excess gas out the plug hole

Expert:  Vince O. replied 1 year ago.

Then re install plug and try to start without priming or choke.

It ran fine yesterday

The engine is probably flooded then. Try above mentioned and see if starts.

Also double check the oil level. If it is overfilled smell it to see if possible gas in the oil
