Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
Hello, and thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you. I will need to ask you some troubleshooting questions as we go.
How long has it been since your engine last started up and continued to run? Will your spin over when you attempt to start it?
Did you drain your fuel tank, after your last use, last winter?
If your fuel contains ethanol, it has very likely turned stale, and contaminated your carburetor. Fuel will began to turn stale within thirty days, from date of purchase, if it is not stabilized.
Are you requesting a phone call?
To began, you will need to drain all of the fuel from your fuel tank.
Next you will need to remove your carburetor bowl and clean it and clean your main jet. You can use a small wire and some carburetor cleaner in a can to clean the small holes in your main jet.
What brand is your engine?
You can do a basic cleaning without removing your carburetor from your engine. Just remove your fuel bowl, to gain access to the underside of your carburetor.
Many times a basic cleaning will work for you. It is always good to try this first.
This will be fine. We can continue from here. Thanks!
