my john deere l110 lawn mower, keeps stalling, it starts runs for about 5 min then shuts off, i don't know if it is the carborator or the fuel solinoid

Is the fuel solenoid getting hot? When cold listen for the click of the solenoid, learn what it sounds like, then when engine stalls, turn key on and off listening for the click of the solenoid. No click, no fuel. Solenoid has to have 12 volts at all times the key is on.
