You mean it will not start? If spark plug is removed, and grounded, do you have spark?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

If you have spark, do you have compression? Use finger with rag over spark plug hole, to see if it has enough compression to move your finger.

Is the choke working and closing the throat of carb?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

The solenoid in carb. is # item to cause no start.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can't tell. But, when I pull the choke out there is no response. Took the hose off the carb and can see the little fly inside

Is butterfly moving when cable is moved?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

#25 is the fuel solenoid.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The fuel solenoid was looked at and works. I have the spare
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Last mechanic checked that.
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

It was replaced? Take the old one, cut the tip off, and install it as a dummy for test!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The last thing I know he did was to put oil and overfill it! This was because the oil light kept coming on. So, he cleaned it up, drained it etc
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

oil pressure switch would kill spark, but you say it has spark.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
mechanic took the carb out! he wondered why the butterfly would get stuck. He cleaned that and put it back then the oil light came on. That's why he put oil. I had the stick and told him it was full. That's when it was overfilled.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
This mechanic has had 30 years working on car and heavy equipment. So, I thought he knew his stuff. He took it to his garage to clean up the oil situation. Brought it back but after the fuel ran out, it wouldn't turn over.

Choke buttery fly has to move with cable. If it sticks, it starves engine for air.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
btw, the link for partstree doesn't work. I bought the parts form the cub dealer.
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

I was guessing at model number, so link is wrong anyway!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I know that about the butterfly from having this problem. When I go to startup the cub, it tries to turn over but sounds like no fuel is getting to the engine, even when I pull out the choke.
The lines have been replaced, fuel filters, spark plugs, starter solenoid, carbs been cleaned
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

You saw what I said about the solenoid?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Even if I replace the carb (no kit) I'm not sure if it will start. You are my last resort to contacting the dealer-again.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I saw that post. The dealer got it started but this same problem has resurfaced.
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Can you take old fuel solenoid , remove the inner tip, and install it as a dummy?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
