Riding mower (Mdl. #917.275643) will not start when piston

Customer Question

Riding mower (Mdl. #917.275643) will not start when piston is at top dead center. In order to get the engine to turn over, I need to move the cylinder off the top dead center position, in order to reduce compression. There appears to be an internal compression bleed valve that reduces compression during starting, and this is malfunctioning (I am guessing here).

It could be your valves need adjusting pr on most engines the compression release is located on the camshaft
