My 17 KW Generac says it is time maintenance -- clean

Customer Question

My 17 KW Generac says it is time for battery maintenance -- clean corrosion, check cable tightness, etc. The battery is in a hard-to-get-at corner of the unit. Do I have to disassemble part of the unit to get the battery out, or is there an easier way? This is a propane-fueled unit, with a cold start kit.

No, you should not have to disassemble anything.

Once you have the front panel pulled off, the battery should come out.

It is a tight fit on most units, but if the correct battery is in there, it will come out.
