Customer Question

This is awesome....I just purchased a used Poulan riding mower. Briggs & Straton engine, I think 15.5 h.p. This mower is in very good condition, but once it starts, it will only run on high speed. As soon as I move the lever to lower the r.p.m's, it sort of coughs and dies. Is there an adjustment I can make to make the engine run at a lower r.p.m.?

Hi, my name is***** will be assisting you.

What have you checked so far? Can you manually move the governor linkage by hand and the engine still run? Does it start easily or do you have to crank on it for a while before it starts?
