Have riding mower LA 120 Just installed new blade belt

Customer Question

have riding mower LA 120
Just installed new blade belt
official john deere brand
followed ,diagram on belt cardboard sleeve.
belt slips off pulleys and belt seems 1-2 inches too long, very sloppy fit when blades not engaged.
Is there a component that needs to be adjusted to make it a bit tighter?

That is supposed to be the right belt according to the parts diagrams. I have included a picture of the routing to see if this helps you.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I confirmed that the routing is the same as on the sleeve on the belt package, and looks like your diagram.
put belt shelf on real tight, and all is ok again.
