Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
HI, my name is***** will be assisting you.
Have you checked spark going to both cylinders? It could be that the engine is only running on one cylinder which would cause that one to heat up quickly and run hotter than the other. You may also check for an intake air leak on the cool cylinder maybe it isn't pulling the fuel that it needs to run properly which would cause the second cylinder to work harder to keep the engine running which in turn would produce more heat quickly.
