6 year old poulan 18" wildthing won't start. new gas, chain

6 year old poulan 18" wildthing won't start.
new gas, chain brake off, switch is on, primer working.
just installed new coil and wire assembly and new plug.
acts as if it is getting no fire.
sounds just like it does when start switch is off.

Can you check the compression on the engine? This machine needs at least 90 psi in order to start and run. I have seen a few times they might run at 85 psi but they are extremely hard to get started at that.
