Customer Question

I have a craftsman gt6000 with a 21hp Briggs intek 25ohv. I have replaced the coil and it ran like a dream. I turned it off and now it will not start. Replaced a second coil, ran great, turned it off and it won't start. What could cause the coils to burn up?

Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! If you remove the kill wire from the coil, do you have spark? If not, with voltmeter, see if there is voltage in the kill wire, when the key is on. If voltage is being applied to the coils, they will burn up. Should be no voltage going to the coil.

There was not voltage to the kill wire when I tested it just now.
