Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !!Do you know the full model number of the engine? Do you know what coil you bought? M-70111 Electrical Coil is the one shown that goes with the single wire igniter. Later model engines, do not use the igniter, and have just coil and magnet to make the spark. On yours, remove the kill wire from the circuit, between the keyswitch and the igniter. Then check for spark. Wire or keyswitch may be affecting the spark.
