I have an 18 briggs and Stratton vanguard , when started it runs strong, with in 10 min and starts to sputter and build base pressure apparently , then oil blows into the breather through the vent tube

This sounds like you have a blown head gasket.They usually blow between the piston and the valve chamber.It is pushing compression and exhaust past the valves and into the crankcase.You will most likely have to remove the head and replace the head gasket
