15 amp should work! Is it grounded, and is the output reading battery voltage with key on?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
If not the wire is broken or not connected to the battery.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
There is no output voltage on the B+ terminal to ground with batter hot lead off and engine running
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
You need the regulator plugged in!
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
This removing the battery cable is not good!
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
it is with 43.5 volts ac going into the reg./rect
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
The middle terminal on regulator should always read battery voltage, and more when engine is running, or it does not charge battery.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
reading the B+ with battery connect I am just reading battery voltage 12.3 volts dc
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
Is regulator grounded?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes I know that, that what I am saying, with this new reg./rect. I am still not getting no voltage out at B+, other than batt voltage.
yea the reg is grounded
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
that one is listed as a 15 amp... according to what I can find, Kohler engines can use a 15 amp, 20 amp, or a 25 amp reg./rect., what I am trying to determine is which one I need for my engine
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
You have the coreect one.
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
See the parts link I sent
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
so if I purchase another one of that amperage and it blows I can send the bill to you
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
Nope!
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
you still haven't answer my original question.. how can I determine the amperage for the reg./rect. I need to purchased
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I purchased this mower used and was told that the owner rebuilt the engine, so I don't know if he used original parts or if he used will fit parts and the engine has a different stator. I sorta of figure this because the old reg./rect. did not have a number on it, so I need to determine the output amps of the stator that is on the engine....
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
hello... we still there???
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 2 years ago.
HELLO, I sent parts list. You have a 15 amp regulator, and it is the correct one!
