TroyBilt Riding Mower Model 13064, engine Koh CV 12.5 S/051259

Customer Question

TroyBilt Riding Mower Model 13064, engine Koh CV 12.5 S/051259 (or PS1259). Problem: Inline fuel filter between gas tank and engine is usually half full of fuel. After running for 15 minutes or so engine begs for more fuel and must choke engine to keep it running, but usually dies anyway. Quick check of inline fuel filter shows filter is empty. However it fills to half full after several minutes of sitting (assume gravity feed makes it half full). Then, engine starts easy, runs another 15 or so minutes then filter is empty again.
?? Where is fuel pump, if there is one?? What would cause the fuel to be consumed faster than supply can handle??

Hi my name is ***** ***** welcome to just answer. It could be a restricted or bad gas cap . If it's not venting properly it will cause this. I would first try keeping the cap loose , I don't see a fuel pump but if there's one it would be between the carb and fuel filter .
