My cub cadet LTX1040 deck belt has too much slack. How do I tighten this belt?

Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! The tension spring on the idler arm is what tightens the belt! The pto cable that you move to engage the blades, has to pull the lever with it's spring, to make the belt tight.
