I have a 26hp craftsman riding lawn mower that won't start.

Customer Question

I have a 26hp craftsman riding lawn mower that won't start. I think I have a clue as to what might be wrong. Recently I have had to push harder and harder on the brake before it would start now no matter how hard I push it refuses to start. Is there and adjustment for the brake ? and what does depressing the brake all the way do that allows the tractor to start?
Thanks Larry

You have a brake switch that has to make contact before the mower will start. Look in owners for the location, shown in the parts section. It may have pushed out of position.
