Customer Question

Honda 6500 electric start, 10+ years old. Engine was running, started power usage, a couple minutes later engine dies. I try to restart engine and starter is dead. I find the 15 amp fuse is blown. What likely is blowing the fuse?

The most likely cause is a bad voltage regulator. You can replace the fuse, start it and check battery voltage. If it's high there's your problem. If it's not and it blows again it could be anything from a bad connection to just a bad battery drawing too many amps.
