My 318 John Deere suddenly started running rough with loss

Customer Question

My 318 John Deere suddenly started running rough with loss of power.
It appears the carb is getting way too much gas. Any ideas of adjustment
or anything else?

Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! The needle valve and float in the carburetor are what controls the fuel flow. If it is flooding the engine the float can be stuck or full of fuel, not closing the needle valve, You will need to remove the top of the carburetor to access the float and needle valve. This is not something an adjustment will help!
