I see no one has answered, do you still want help? Do you have a voltmeter or test light to see if the switch sends voltage to the electric clutch? Do you have any battery issue, where you have to jump mower or charge the battery? Have you checked the wires an connection at the clutch?
Customer
Still want help
Have voltmeter
Charged the battery
Havent checked wires at the clutch
Check for 12 volts at the switch, and check the wires at the clutch, that may be all that is wring bad connection or damaged wire at clutch is common fault. The system consists of switch, relay , and clutch. If power to the switch , and power leaves the switch, when pulled, the relay maybe bad, but a voltage check at the clutch will confirm.
Customer
Got 12 V at the clutch
Belt that drives the clutch is good
Must need a new clutch then, right?
When you turn on the clutch does it click and close the magnet? If not, you do need a new clutch!
Customer
The magnet closes and feels like it locks up but the belt that drives it turns and the clutch does not drive the mower pulley
Customer
The magnet closes and it feels like it locks up but it still wont drive the mower blades The belt that drives the clutch is turning
could the clutch be spinning on the crankshaft? It should be locked to crankshaft with a key to keep it turning with the engine.
Customer
The clutch is belt driven off the crankshaft and that belt is turning
Customer
I found a parts diagram. The clutch is on a jackshaft with clutch on one end and a keyed engine driven pulley with set screws on the other end So this is probably loose huh?
Hard to see up there as its buried in brackets etc
If the electric clutch is driving the belt, it is doing what it should, why is the deck not turning? So the pulley on the jack shaft may not be driving the clutch!
