I am having a problem with a Husky 1850 generator model # XXXXX

Resolved Question:

I am having a problem with a Husky 1850 generator model # XXXXX I start it up and it runs for a couple of minutes and shuts off. I tried dry gas and starter spray. There is plenty of gas in it. I can not find the owner manuel it is one year old. Any idea??

Thank you for choosing Just Answer, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do my best to help you find the answer you need to resolve your problem.

You are going to need to clean the carburetor. I have seen these come through brand new like this. Remove the air filter and the air filter housing so you can see the carburetor. Turn off the fuel. At the bottom center of the carb will be a small bolt head. Remove this bolt and the float bowl (the round bowl looking thing at the bottom of the carb) drain the fuel out of that and then turn your fuel back on with a drip pan underneath it. Manually move the plastic float up and down. Up will shut the fuel off, down will allow it to run. Let it run for about 30 seconds and then shut the fuel off. Clean the bowl and the hole that the bolt came out of with carburetor spray cleaner (starter spray will work in a pinch) Reassemble, turn the gas on and start the generator
