There is no way to know exactly what happened but if it checked out and is now running correctly then I would not worry about it. When we loose power sometimes it happens in spurts. If you lost power and the generator kicked in then you got a power surge with the power kicking back in and then going out in rapid succession this may explain why the circuit breaker tripped. This is an odd occurrence and hopefully it will not happen again
John, once the utility power went out, the generator started but did not furnish any
power to the house. The generator never shut itself off as it normally would do if
it had provided power to the house and then shut off when utility power came back on.
The electrician never bothered to check the inside of the transfer switch to see if
everything was okay. The sales dealer in Des Moines for Generac had a person who
told me this was not normal and even though the generator runs, it could still be
hooked up wrong. What do you think?
