My sister is teaching...

My sister is teaching a jelly roll rug class and two of her students have Janome 4120 machines. They are having difficulty getting the stitch wider. Do you have a recommendation on what their stitch settings should be? Is their a stitch number you recommend? Thanks.

Contractor's Assistant: How old is your Janome sewing machine?

I'm asking the ladies now. They have both been purchased within the last year.

Contractor's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your Janome sewing machine? What have you tried so far?

It apparently is only this project. They've tried using the walking foot and not using the walking foot. They have new needles in the machine. I am hearing that they can't get in to the right stitch.

Contractor's Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?

They are using jeans needles. I am hearing that they can't the zig zag stitch wide enough.

It may well be that others in the class have machines with a 9mm maximum width, and the 4120 simply does not have that

Thanks Martyn. That may well be a contributing factor. They ended up using other machines to complete the class that were not Janomes. I do appreciate your input! Take care and stay healthy.
