What are the preset dials for model 4432?

Hi,

Does your machine have 2 dials on the front on the right side?

1) The top dial is for setting the length of the stitch per inch, from 4 (a loose stitch) to "0", a tight stitch. It applies to each of the stitches on the bottom dial. Basically you want to pick according to whether you need a loose stitch or tight stitch You will want to set the length of your stitches around 2.5 to 3 for an average length of stitch, but it gives the option of to make a looser stitch or tighter stitch depending on what you are sewing. I encourage you to experiment with the different lengths of stitches.

2) The lower dial is for selecting the style of stitch. For daily use, you will keep it on "straight stitch", to the right of the buttonhole picture on the dial. The second most common stitch you will use is the Zig Zag stitch, to the right of straight stitch picture. Zig Zag stitching is used when you want the cut or raw edges of fabric to stop raveling.

3) As for the problem with reversing while sewing....this is something that should NOT be happening in a new machine under 1 year old. I would call that a defect in the machine or it could be the beginnings of your machine being a "lemon." This is an issue you need to take up with the people at the store where you purchased and they should exchange the machine for you. If you have your receipt, take it with you because it will be easier with a shorter weight time to exchange it.

4) Read your owners manual to get to know your machine, this will be beneficial to you in the long run.
