This is not uncommon, particularly when it has been some time since last service.


You will need to turn the machine on it's back to access the base plate.

I'll be back shortly, just need to find a couple of pages to scan for you...

Lube points

The most critical for you is "E" as this collar is the reverse mechanism.

Often gums up with lint and oil ... if very resistant it may need cleaning with denatured spirit (meths) first... jiggle the collar until it feels free moving, then lube with good machine oil or Inox spray lube NOT WD40
