"Whether it can be repaired," depends upon your definitions.

- self-repair? i.e. you buy the new part and put it in yourself.

- shop repair? i.e. they get the new part and put it in for you for a fee.

- economical repair? i.e. whichever of those two options you choose, it costs distinctly less, in total, than having the machine replace.

Also please let me know whether the bobbin post in question is interior to the machine! it sounds like it, and it could, frankly, be a major repair at the worst.
