This answer was rated:

Hi, could you tell me whether a 2 month notice period is legally enforceable for my lease in Scotland? (I saw an answer from you on this matter in 2010). My 6 month lease expired in 2011 and I've been on a month to month basis ever since. I've now given a month's notice and my landlord said I have to give two months. Is this legally enforceable?
Thank you for your question.

If your lease says that the tenancy is now month to month then the minimum notice is either what is specified in the lease or 28 days which ever is the greater.

I hope this helps. Please leave a positive response so that I am credited for my time.
