If I have been admonished in a Scottish Court, how long does

Customer Question

Hi Thank you for your question.

The charge you talk of will remain on record for all times. It will be brought up if you get into trouble again.

It does however become spent after 5 years. That is to say that you do not need to declare it after that time for the likes of job applications. There are of course exceptions like teaching, childcare, the police etc where it must always be declared. The time runs from date of conviction. The sentence does not, however, become spent if you are convicted of anything else during the period before it becomes spent.
