Hi, How long does a criminal record last for in Scotland before it is 'Spent'?

I was convicted around 10years ago for possession of an offensive weapon (Knuckle Dusters)and was charged and fined for this (£250).

Currently renewing house insurance and have been told that I need to report this to them unless the record is now 'Spent'

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX
An offence becomes spent depending on the sentence, rather than the charge. For a fine the conviction becomes spent after 5 years .
