Customer Question

Reaches 3800 to 4000 rpm and chokes, codes indicate manifold pressure, Throttle position issues, mass air flow.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: P0106, P0121, P1101, P0068, cleared them and they haven't come back yet...
JA: What year is your 4000?
Customer: 2005 Ion 2.2
JA: Are you fixing your 4000 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Replaced fuel filter, new plugs, am thinking about ECM...
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nope

Remove front oxygen sensor completely from exhaust, let me know if that allows rpm to go higher. Thanks.

Nope, same results, 3800 to 4000 rpm starts to vacillate, and then shuts down...

Next thing to do would be to check timing chain marks, these engines are known for timing problems which can cause some of the codes you were getting. If timing looks good then I'd also suspect the ECM. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.
