Is it a chattering noise from the front of the compressor?

How does the AC work? Does the compressor engage enough to run the AC?

OK, last check is to slide a straight pin along the wire in the connector at the compressor and measure it while the clutch is trying to be turned on. If you have 12 volts but it is clicking tap the middle of the clutch with a hammer handle, if it pulls in and runs then you need to replace the clutch and adjust the air gap of the clutch plates.
