I do not have access to that type of scanner. Would it do

Customer Question

I do not have access to that type of scanner. Would it do any good to take the car out on the highway and set the cruise control and see if the popping accelerator would stop after a good drive.

No I don't think so. These cruise control systems don't have a lot of parts. Since it is engaging it rules out the switch.

Take it for a drive and try holding the brake pedal up and see if it works better. It is possible that you have a bad brake switch.

If its not any better I would lean towards a cruise module.

is the cruise module inside the transmission ?
Expert:  Tool Hut replied 2 years ago.

No. It is under dash right side of steering column
