(only) a solenoid is needing to be replaced..Haynes manual

Resolved Question:

Can someone verify that codes PO732 and PO782 indicate that (only) a solenoid is needing to be replaced? I can't find the codes in my Haynes manual (?)? Thanks!

Hello,I will be glad to try and assist you with this,Welcome to Just Answer.

Code P0732 can indicate that shift solenoid 2 is faulty and needs replaced. This would have to be checked by using a scan tool to turn the solenoid off and on and if you don't hear a click from the transmission or a really faint click then most likely the solenoid needs replaced. This doesn't necessarily mean this is the solenoid at fault as this could be issues in the transmission valve body or clutches in the transmission causing a slip condition.

Code P0782 indicates a fault with shift solenoid 3 or internal problems in the transmission the same as above.

Both of these codes can indicate the solenoids are at fault but it is hard to say for sure from here. You can usually command them of and on with a scan tool that has function capabilities and if they do not click or are real faint with the click then this indicates the solenoids need replaced.

if they have a nice solid click off and on then this usually indicates a component in the transmission is at fault and would have to be checked/tested to find the source of the failure.

Sometimes it is just built up debris in the transmission that will cause these problems and in some cases a simple transmission flush with a flush machine can correct this here.
