2006 saturn ion 2: coolant light..light comes..vehicles..coolant level

This answer was rated:

i have 2006 saturn ion 2 coolant light comes on when vehicles i at regular running temp but vehicle does not run hot ang coolant level is fine.

The coolant level sensor is likely shorted. The sensor is in the coolant reservoir. Try unplugging the sensor to see if the light goes out. If it does, try tapping on the reservoir with a rubber mallet or your hand to see if this will unstick the float in the reservoir. Reconnect the sensor and see if the light stays out. If the light comes back on, the reservoir will need to be replaced.
