Pep boys has a transmitter tester right at the parts counter so you can see if the remote works at all. If it doesn't then it needs to be replaced. If it does, then perhaps it needs to be relearned. You can try holding the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time while standing next to the car for 30 seconds and see if that helps.If that doesn't work then you have to call a few garages or a GM dealer to have it reprogrammed.

once you turn the key in the ignition it turns the alarm off right?
If not then it is not a factory alarm, it is an aftermarket one. If that is the case then I would remove the system or contact an auto alarm/stereo installer and ask where a new transmitter can be obtained and how to program it.
On the back of the transmitter does it say GM anywhere?

Let me be more clear, if the remote says GM on the back, It doesn't matter if it came with the car, dealers install after market alarms every day, if it does not say GM then it can be disabled.
If it says GM it can not be disabled because it is a part of the body control module that makes the car run.
You need to know if it is a GM system. If it is all you can do is turn the ignition key to run and the alarm will shut down, then you can take the car to a mechanic to get a new fob...however, if your problem is that the alarm keeps going off even though you are not opening the doors, that is a different issue altogether.
Is that what is happening???????????????now if the alarm is the horn, then unplug the horn which is under the left front headlamp area in the body. May be accessible from underneath, you may have to remove the horn fuse in the underhood fuse block...by the way if the alarm uses the horn it is probably a factory alarm...if it uses a siren then it definitely not a factory alarm. Just to clear that up.

OK, now I see your actual problem. You have a water leak from your sunroof that has dripped onto the door jam switches behind the dash end caps and that has shorted the switches and caused the dome light to come on by itself. That in turn is triggering the alarm.
You need to unclog the drain hose ends for the sunroof and replace the switches and connectors. That will fix the issue.

are you sure the dome lamp switch isn't just turned to the off position ? I am looking at the schematics for the interior lights and they are all on the same output from the body control module. Something is keeping them on and that is why your alarm is sounding.....I cannot be more clear on this one issue, there is no alarm fuse for a factory alarm and therefore it cannot be disabled. All you can do is remove the horn fuse unless it is an after market alarm, then you can search under the dash for the wiring that goes to the module and that will have a fuse in the wiring that can be removed but I don't think you have an after market alarm since your alarm is using the horn.
