The convertible roof will not go down, 2005, Yes, I'm trying

Customer Question

The convertible roof will not go down
JA: What year is your Convertible?
Customer: 2005
JA: Are you fixing your Convertible yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I'm trying to fix myself. It would not close all the way and would not latch properly. I finally got it closed all the way because if I drove it over 40 the top would start coming up. I brought it to a local mechanic and them were able to get it to close all the way but now it does not go down at all.
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: Yes lights work and new battery and charged
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: When it would not close all the way the trunk would also not open. That about it I think its and electrical issue not sure though.
