2006 Saab 9-3, 186,000 km. scrapping noise from front let of car. noisier when driving slow. brakes are fine. steering is fine. any ideas of problem

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question.
Most commonly this is a rotor dustshield behind the brake rotor that is slightly bent and touching the rotor. The wheel needs to be removed and then use a couple of lug nuts to snug the rotor up against the hub and spin the rotor as you watch the rear of it to see if the shield is hitting it. If it is, then just use pliers to bend it straight.
