Sorry to hear you are having issues with the replacement globe, I did see e-trailer does sell a globe for the 42" fan and I am willing to bet that is the one that you got from them.

What I have found is that Patrick Industries may have purchased the Airrforce brand but I am unaware if they are still supporting the product. I would give them a call and see if they can assist you at all with this. Below is the contact information for you.

I found a thread online with a similar situation and the owner reported they E-trailer told them Patrick Industries was the point of contact, again I do not know if they are still supporting the fan line but be worth a shot for you to call.

Yes I saw on E-trailer they sell them listed as a 42" so not sure why it would not work, see link below. They show it is a 7 1/4" but looks to me that number is ***** entire width including the base. This is probably the one you received. I would try Patrick Industries and see if they can shed any light on this for you.

Yes so I can not explain why it would not fit on yours, I was reading online some have a slot and then you have to turn the globe to get into the slot for it to go on but I am not sure why that would be. I would think your old one would need to match up with the new one.
