Ok, your tank is not in direct contact with the exhaust of the furnace.  When is the last time you had the furnace cleaned and all your gas lines checked for leaks?

where do you live?  In Texas we have mud daubers that love the smell of propane and build nests inside the furnaces.  We have to clean these out with water to get the proper gas air mixture in the burn chamber.

There is a pop off valve on a propane tank that would pop open and it will be a loud pop if it opens.  I have personally been in the seat of a truck when a propane tank pop off valve blew.  It was like an explosion.

It is possible that the regulator might be leaking and needs to be replaced.

Take a flashlight and look inside the exterior vent of the furnace.  If you see any signs od debris or mud nests, then you would want to clean it out.

Use the soapy solution and start at the tank and check all the fittings on the tank and then go out on the gas lines to the regulator and then check all the connections on the pipe and the connections going to all the appliances.

That's good.  as a tech, we would perform a drop pressure test to check for any leaks in the system.  That requires a monometer to measure the gas pressure.

Just check all the connections on the propane lines and if you do not see any bubbles anywhere, then you should be ok.  If you light all the burners on the stove, you should see a good blue flame.  If not, then you might want to get a new regulator.

That is your water heater and I would clean the burner and the burner tube real good to get all the suit out of it.  and you have a mud dauber screen on the cover.

If the tank was off and you were using electric only, I am not sure what would cause a propane smell.

There is no pilot light on the water heater.  It has a electronic lighter and main burner only.

There is not an actual pilot light on the furnace.  The light will come on when you are trying to light the furnace.  Once it is lit, then the light goes off. There is a sensor that tells the control whether or not the flame came on or not.

There is also not a pilot light on the water heater, it uses the same technology as the furnace.

Are you smelling it inside or outside?

My concern would be whether or not the burn chamber is intact.  It could have a crack in it and causing the smell.  It can also allow CO2 to get into the RV.

Does it smell like amonia?

Look on the back of the fridge and see if there is a yellowish green powder.

If your tank is off, then there cannot be a propane leak.  I am thinking you have a leaking cooling unit on your fridge.  You said it got worst when you plugged it into shore power.  That would not cause a propane leak, but would cause the ammonia to leak out of the cooling unit.  You would smell it inside and out.
