I recently purchased a used (2015) Keystone Cougar 29 RBS. I can NOT find the waste gate release handle to empty the black water holding tank. The gray tank was easy to locate but I can not find the gate handle for the black

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cougar yourself? What have you tried so far?

There is nothing wrong with the unit. I am preparing to take it on our first camping trip and won't be able to drain the black water tank!

I ONLY need to locate that waste gate release!

Good afternoon welcome to Just Answer my name is James.

The black water tank should be right under the toilet the valve should be on the left side in that same area outside. can you post some pictures of that area so i can see.

The outside image shows the forward drivers side of the 5th wheel. The bath is immediately to the left of the slide-out and the commode is about 5' toward the opposite side of the RV. There is a decal on the lower edge of this unit designating gray to the right ( rearward) and black to the left (toward the front). This is my third 5th wheel and numerous standard trailers. I have always located the dump valve handle previously. I have looked in the baggage area and inside in the bath area. I am assuming this particular coach has a unique hiding spot only findable to those familiar with this model!

it drops down a straight in from the picture and continues out to the termination of the final dump pipe. There is a smaller pipe which joins into this main pipe (gray water) half way between the 3" pipe dropping from under the RV and the termination of that pipe. I spent 1/2 an hour crawling around underneath where I am quite sure the black tank must be, no luck!

It might have a remote cable valve, and the valve is up inside.

I haven't received any picture yet.

I thought the same but can not locate either a mechanical or electronic release.

The Black tank valve is located just in front of the front wheel. It comes directly through the Frame.
