I was running a...

I was running a heater and convection oven when there was a flash (fuse blew due to pulling too much current?). I have power at pole but inverter only is running. Incidentally, I only had 30 amps prior to this despite being plugged into 50 amp.

Mechanic's Assistant: Do all the fuses have the correct amperage for the circuits they're in?

I believe so. I have checked most of the small fuses and nothing blown.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your RV?

Holiday Rambler Neptune 2008.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your RV yourself? What have you tried so far?

Holiday Rambler Neptune 2008.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?

I reset all reset able fuses.

Hi! My name is ***** ***** I can assist you with this. I may need some additional information from you first in order to give a complete answer.

Please give me a few minutes to type up an answer for you here. Thanks!

Are you using any kind of adapter on the shore cord? If so, you would loose half your power to the coach. And you will need a small digital multimeter for some testing here. About $20 or so at most local hardware stores and easy to use. I can instruct you in some testing. Randall

Right now Im concerned with not having any shore power, just inverter and everything works with generator. I ran the convection oven and it appeared to blow a fuse. THis now does not allow AC power to run.
RV Mechanic: Randall, RVIA Certification replied 2 years ago

You most likely damaged the automatic transfer switch. That is were the junction of the shore cord and the generator cord come together. You need a multimeter for some testing. Take the cover off and get back to me again when you are ready to test. I am around here every day. Thanks! Randall
