Power Gear system on 1997 National Dolphin won't retract.

Click HERE and tell me which control panel you have. This is a service manual for the power gear leveling, they have dozens of arrangements so if you can tell me which one you have it may help out. Also what you might want to try is to start the engine and release the parking brake, that just may allow the jacks to retract, that is designed into the system so you do not drive away with the jacks down.

Yes the fuses are in the control panel and I know they can be very difficult to get out and need needle nose pliers.. In order for the system to work the parking brake has to be set. Many times when you start the engine and release the parking brake the jacks will auto retract.

Lippert Components now owns power gear as well but it can be hard to obtain any kinds of parts on these older systems as they are obsolete. Not sure where you would find the fuses for that system. Follow the troubleshooting for the symptom you are having in the manual.

Just leave it park, the parking brake is the signal that tells the jacks to work and then to run up if they are down.

You could try to jump the motor solenoid at the pump and see if that does anything. Each system is a bit different. IF you loosen the lines at the jacks it should allow the jacks to go up, the only issue with that is you have to be under the RV and it will spray fluid everywhere You might also be able to crack the lines at the manifold see the service manual for the line routing to the manifold.

That may be best, ***** ***** parking brake release then look the manual over and only do what you are confortable checking. Hold onto that manual that is hard to get as when Lippert purchased Power Gear they got rid of allot of information.
