The system is split, AC power and DC power.
The DC power would be the battery powered items, when you are plugged into power you have AC power to the outlets, microwave, TV'S. The power converter will also take the AC power and make the DC power and charge the battery.
When you unplug you only have DC power so you would not be able to use the outlets, TV's microwave, Roof AC units etc. Some items such as the fridge use both AC power and DC power, that would be the fridge, water heater. The fridge and water heater will still work on LP or propane with DC power.
In order to have AC power not plugged in you would need a generator or some type of inverter. AN inverter allows you to have AC power not plugged in, it takes the DC battery voltage and makes the AC voltage. The draw back is you need a very large battery bank, possible solar panels to keep the batteries charged up for the AC power, not only that you probably would not be able to run the AC units.
So if you are wanting AC power the best option would be a generator, Honda makes them and many satisfied owners, they have several models depending on what you want to do. Click HERE and have a look.
