I would suspect the low coolant level sensor. I see this a lot.
Many times the sensor can be removed and the probe cleaned and fix the problem. I would do this first.
If cleaning does not help. I would Replace the sensor.

The wait to start lamp is for the inlet air heater. This only comes on at start up and when cold.
If it’s coming on. You most likely have a faulty light assembly. Very rare for it to really come on.
