I just switched from my onboard lpg tank to a 100 lbs

Customer Question
I just switched from...

I just switched from my onboard lpg tank to a 100 lbs portable tank . Everything lit backup but the furnace. Might I need more volume from the portable tank?

Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?

Not lights . Propane tanks

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your RV?

1995 coachman destiny , 38 ft. Diesel pusher

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your RV yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes . I want to run off a portable propane tank this winter. I switched to the portable propane . Now the furnace won’t stay lit.

That is plenty of supply, but perhaps the regulator is in need of adjustment. How long has it been since this has been done? Or it may be just needing to equalize the pressure in the line.

How do I equalize the pressure in the line?
RV Mechanic: Randall, RVIA Certification replied 8 months ago

Cycle the furnace a few times and see if that solves this.
